* Plant / Bicycle Sale: GoGo Mary

Mary watering plants the night before saleMary has a green thumb, and a love of gardening. Every spring she displays an array of perennials that makes her home a 'go-to' shopping spot for Guelph's gardeners. Mary donates all proceeds to the Grandmothers Campaign - -  over the years thousands of dollars.  Usually her sale opens first Saturday in May and continues well into the summer.
Until last year's Pandemic restrictions, the Horticultural Society generously donated their beautiful plants, left over from their Guelph Saturday Morning Market sale on Mother's Day weekend, to Mary. Great assortment available.

In addition to promoting the nurturing of a green earth, Mary's strong commitment to the environment includes providing ways to get us out of cars and onto bicycles.  She puts this into action through her sale of good used bicycles. She accepts donations of used bikes, (even rescuing discarded good ones from landfill). She and a volunteer fixes and cleans them to make them roadworthy and then displays and sells them at her home (63 Arkell Rd).
This year, 2021, Mary continues the sale of quality, used bicycles. She carefully follows distancing and masking and sanitizing protocol.
Mary welcomes volunteers to help.

The bicycle project is a legacy of her dear father, who passed away in January 2018, just short of his 92nd birthday. 4Gs affectionately called him 'Bicycle Bob' and considered him an honourary 4Gs member from our start in 2006. Over the years Bob kept meticulous records and he donated thousands of dollars to the Grandmothers Campaign

Last year – 2020– Mary contributed the remarkable amount of over $29,000 to the Grandmother Campaign.

Generosity and volunteerism is this family's DNA.
